Cyber security is the practice of protecting computers, servers, electronic systems, networks, mobiles as well as data from malicious attacks. It involves protecting software, hardware, as well as user’s data. It also helps prevent cybercriminals from gaining access to various devices connected through networks. It also trains how to monitor systems and networks for intrusions. In view of that Uttaranchal University offers BCA – Cyber Security in collaboration with "CompTIA", a three-year undergraduate program designed to fulfil the requirements of the IT industries.

BCA- cyber security program focuses on providing relevant skills to establish sample collection techniques from different sources that help students to profile threat actors. The program includes courses like Fundamentals of Cyber Security, Risk Management, Law of Cyber Security, Security Professional Ethics, Principles of Information System Security, Paradigm of Ethical Hacking, Information System Security Planning and Audits, Python programming, etc

In order to enhance programming skills of the young IT professionals, BCA-cyber security curriculum has introduced the concept of project development in each language/technology learnt during semester. This ensures the experiential learning through practical exposure. From time to time, Guest Lectures/ Workshops are conducted to provide in-depth knowledge about latest technologies. Beyond the curriculum, students are also offered multiple value-added courses, ability and skill enhancement courses.

BCA – Cyber Security, program focuses on skills development in Cyber Security, Paradigm of Ethical Hacking and other related concepts. As per the industry stats, some of the popular cyber security related job profiles are Information Security Analyst, Risk Analyst, Cyber Security Analyst, Trainer, Support Engineer, and Network Security Engineer. Eligibility

  • Passed (10+2) examination from a recognized Board of School Education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 50% marks for general and 45% marks for SC/ST category.

Note:

  • Only one choice of scholarship will be allowed to the candidate from the following:
    • 5% scholarship on Net Academic Fee (after merit scholarship) to Girl Candidate for complete programme.
    • 5% scholarship on Net Academic Fee (after merit scholarship) to ward of Defence Personnel for complete programme.
    • 10% scholarship on Net Academic Fee (after merit scholarship) to Alumni of Uttaranchal University (only in 1st year).
  • If any student deposits his/her complete yearly Fee, in that case additional scholarship of 5% on Net Academic Fee (after merit scholarship)will be provided for 1st year only.
  • Cyber Security Specialization Fee of RS. 10,000/- per semester will be paid by students from first semester.
