Get an opportunity to work in environmental challenges, education, health care, transportation, real estate, smart city planning, travelling and tourism Firms.
Apply NowGeographical Information System (GIS) is an inter-disciplinary field that builds expertise in the application of geospatial technologies to the most important real-world concerns in the areas of the environment, earth sciences, social sciences, and economics. The field focuses on translating geospatial data into useful end-user information by using acquisition, processing, characterisation, analysis, and modelling to better understand geographic patterns, processes, and interactions at all scales, from macro to global. The Internet of Things (IoT), automation, and robotics have all been linked through GIS. As a result, GIS knowledge and abilities are in high demand among today’s students and professionals. Owing to this Uttaranchal University offers specialization in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS to undergraduate students who have enrolled in B.Tech Civil Engineering program.
The program’s primary strength is its unique curriculum, which equips current and future professionals with the most up-to-date knowledge on development challenges in order to solve real-world difficulties. It teaches civil engineering students to the fundamentals of remote sensing and a computerised GIS database management system, followed by professional exposure. The program primarily assists students in processing, analysing, and examining complicated geographic data. Furthermore, prospective candidates will be well-versed in the creative application of GIS techniques to civil engineering challenges. As a result, students will be professionally competent to use the GIS platform to deliver solutions that meet the needs of academic institutions, companies, and industries that use geospatial technologies in their activities.
Apply NowGIS is now being used in almost all areas of life including environmental challenges, education, health care, transportation, real estate, smart city planning, travelling and tourism etc and student with GIS expertise can work in these sectors as GIS specialist.
