Competitive Cell

Competitive Cell

With an aim to emerge as a world-class institute in creating and disseminating knowledge the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College has recommended the constitution of ‘Competitive Cell’ for the benefit of advanced learners of the college. Well-experienced faculty members constitute the members of the cell, who serve to create virtuous and meritorious professionals. The cell stands unique in its syllabus as it is designed to suit the current competitive examinations. This is carried out through crash courses which are conducted after class hours. They conduct coaching programs for competitive examinations like Civil services, Judicial Services, UGC-NET and the like.

Objective

The vision of the cell is to serve as a centre of excellence in the field of legal education and research. It also aims to create lawyers and legal professionals, who are well-versed in national and transnational legal systems. The objective of the cell is to identify the syllabus and guide the students accordingly. It also provides study material and guidance to the aspirants who wish to get through competitive examinations.

Thrust Areas

  • Law
  • Indian Politics
  • Sociology
  • History
  • Current Affairs

Initiatives

To bring out the best amidst the young scholars the college provides amenities like organizing a series of Motivational Sessions and Guest Lectures. Interaction with Judicial Officers and Senior Academicians which are a regular scenario of the college ignites the young budding lawyers to stay focused and render their contribution for the betterment of the society. The Subject Experts in the committee design Question Banks based on the model questions of previous competitive examinations. The questions are displayed on the college notice board twice a week. This kindles the inquisitiveness of the students wherein they make efforts to trace the answers. This begins with the registration of the students who want to join the coaching through TRD and is open for the 3rd and 4th year students. The entire activity is overseen by the Competitive Cell and it checks the implementation of the initiatives.

Evidence of Success

The accomplishment of our objective in the form of 50 Judges has motivated us and this serves as the source of inspiration to initiate a formula to double the success.

Modus Operandi

Well experienced faculty members will design a Question Paper containing 10 objective questions. The questions so designed will be submitted before the Competitive Cell for their approval and verification of answers. Once it is approved by the cell the Question Paper will be forwarded to the registered students through e-mail on every Monday and Thursday. The answers will also be supplied to them on Wednesday in respect of the questions forwarded to them on Monday and every Saturday in respect of the questions forwarded on Thursday. The Competitive Cell aims to provide at least 200 questions in every subject making altogether 1000 questions. In case of Monday or Thursday being a holiday no question paper will be provided. The first phase will focus on Constitutional Law and IPC. Participants are expected to answer the questions on their own to know their standard of knowledge and secondly to do the required research work for answers. The students are expected to prepare subject wise question bank for ready reference and revision while preparing for any competitive examination. To ensure their sure success the committee may conduct a crash course before the examination in which the students registered may appear irrespective of the fact that they have passed out.
